Meru County Women Representative Kawira Mwangaza has taken her husband of five years by surprise after buying him a Christmas gift worth Sh15 million.

The County MP bought a brand new Toyota Prado V8 for her husband Murega Baichu as a gift and as a show of appreciation for his support during the campaign period.

The two have been living together for the last five years after Kawira divorced her first husband only identified as Mwenda.

She announced the good news on her facebook page drawing a string of comments from Kenyans who envied Baichu for having such a good woman for a wife.

“Proverbs 31.14,&15. This Christmas God has blessed me to bless others especially the disadvantaged. In this case, from my own earnings I will bless over 1000 families within Meru County and show them mother’s love.To a special brave Man who has fought the toughest battles to see me happy, please Murega Baichu humbly appreciate my gift for Christmas. As you drive this car remember to thank God and remind me always to serve my people and to keep my pledge of Lifting lives. Amen,” read the message.

Taken aback by the surprise, Baichi took to his facebook page and thanked his wife for the gift.

“Happy is the man who finds a true friend, and far happier is he who finds that true friend in his wife. I love you Honey. I’m soo excited, wooooow. I humbly accept it. Whaaat a surprise honey.”

Before she was elected Meru County Women Rep on August 8, she served as a county minister under Meru’s ex-Governor Peter Munya.

Kawira is a business magnate. Her pockets are deep and she is associated with Meru’s vernacular station Baite TV.

Her husband is a vernacular musician and a pro guitarist.
