Lawyer Miguna Miguna has announced he will start a 10-day tour to the US starting March 2 to popularize the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Miguna proclaimed himself as the NRM General days before he was deported to Canada by the Kenyan government.

According to the Star, his tour will begin in Washington DC and later head to New York. He will later proceed to New Jersey.

He is expected to take a break from the tour in either of the cities before heading to Houston and later move to Dallas, Texas where he will end his NRM popularization tour in the US on March 9.

The self-styled NRM general has appealed to Kenyans living in the US to turn out in large numbers and support his course.

“Contact your local #NRMke organ for more information. #UhuruMustGo! The mother of liberation,” he said in a tweet.

In the past month, Miguna has had run-ins with Kenyan authorities over his role at the unofficial inauguration of Raila Odinga as the ‘People’s President’ on January 30.

The fete was held at Uhuru Park. He was arrested two days later and locked up in police cells for five days before his dramatic deportation to Canada on February 6.

The Immigration department confiscated his passport but his lawyers put up a fight in the court where the Judge ruled that it be reinstated.

Immigration boss Gordon Kihalangwa on Wednesday surrendered Miguna’s passport to court in compliance with Justice Luka Kimaru’s directive.

However, Miguna slammed the department for allegedly defacing his passport forcing him to apply a new one.

“What the illegitimate government has done is to deposit a defaced passport in defiance of the court order,” said Miguna.
