Moses Kuria to endorse Kennedy Musyoka for EALA nomination

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has gone against the tide and pledged to support the nomination of Kennedy Musyoka to the East African Legislative Assembly [EALA].

On Saturday, the fiery MP met Kennedy and after a short while, he posted on Facebook that he will “unequivocally” endorse his candidature.

Kuria also said that it is wrong for a section of legislators in the 11th Parliament to victimize the Wiper party leader’s son since his father, Kalonzo Musyoka is a principal in the opposition coalition.

“Deuteronomy 24:16 – The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Today I have unequivocally endorsed the candidature of Kennedy Kalonzo Musyoka for the East African Legislative Assembly,” read the post in part.

He added: “I think it’s totally wrong for the ODM wing in NASA to deny Kennedy what he deserves simply because he is son to Kalonzo Musyoka. I will vote for him next week.”

He also warned Parliament of putting off the EALA issue pending and wait for the 12th Parliament.

“And no one should even dream of postponing EALA elections to the next parliament.”

EALA opened on Monday without membership from Kenya which is likely to stall its business.

Jubilee has accused opposition of only forwarding four names of their nominees for EALA. They are pushing for addition of seven more names from which they will pick representatives for EALA from opposition.

In an earlier interview with Daily Nation, Kennedy, 30, said he dislikes being viewed as a person who got the nomination due to his father’s influence in Wiper party.

He said he faced a 23-memebr panel before he landed the nomination.
