Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) Party Boss and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto is on a war path with former Home Affairs Assistant Minister Beatrice Kones.

Kones has accused Ruto of using her son, Kevin Kipngetich Kalya to frustrate her bid to vie for Bomet East Parliamentary seat.

She maintained that Ruto sponsored Kalya to vie for the same seat as her mother but on a CCM ticket while her mother, Mrs. Kones, vies for the same seat on a Jubilee ticket.

“I have no doubt in my mind that Ruto is using my son to fight me politically as part of a wider scheme to make sure that there is no politically active person in my family because he wants to take over as Kipsigis Spokesman,” she said.

She revealed that Ruto allegedly hatched the plan after he approached her to vie on a CCM ticket but she rejected the offer. Instead, she vied on a Jubilee ticket.

“Ruto expected me to vie on a CCM ticket so that his party looks strong because of my political strength. But after I abandoned his camp, he started working sleeplessly to bring me down.”

She added that the aftermath of the plan would be to kill her politically and remain the last man standing and take over a Kipsigis spokeman since he feels threatened by existence of other powerful politicians from Kipsigis land.

“Ruto wants to see my family disintegrate so that he does not face any challenge in his bid to rule the Kipsigis politics,” said an agitated Kones.

She has since appealed to her son to step down and support her candidature as campaigns gain momentum.
