Lucas Mkenda alias Mr Nice, a Tanzanian Bongo Flava who has been living in Kenya was on Thursday involved in a road accident along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway Wednesday morning.

Mr Nice sustained deep cuts on his face and other injuries but was quickly rushed to hospital for treatment.

Tanzanian journalist Millard Ayo who first shared the news of Mr Nice’s accident said that the singer’s saloon car was hit by a lorry transporting milk.

The lorry is said to have lost control and, in the process, wobbled towards the saloon car.

”The lorry was transporting milk to Nairobi when the driver lost control and his brakes which is when he hit my car and we rolled,” Millard quoted Mr Nice.

Mr Nice’s car was being driven by his friend. He said that broken glass from the car cut him deeply including his ear.

“My friend was driving my car and we had driven together from Nairobi. I was seated at the back so that I could sleep so that I would be able to perform once I got to the show…The glasses cut me deep with some getting into my body, my ear was also cut pretty bad but the doctors have managed to restore it.”

Mr Nice added that it was sad that some people helped them while others robbed them but thanks God he is in a stable condition.

It still remains unclear where Mr Nice was scheduled to perform.
