Former UNCTAD boss and presidential hopeful Dr Mukhisa Kituyi has issued a statement regarding a viral explicit video allegedly showing him in the act.
The video has circulated for several days sparking controversy over its explicit nature.
However, Kituyi has dismissed it as fake maintaining that it was skewed and edited to tarnish his name.
He said that those behind it had an ill motive and intended to thwart his presidential ambition but he will not fall for the act.
“I, therefore, dismiss the photoshopped edited video doing rounds on social media purporting to expose my private parts. It doesn’t in any way whatsoever depict the true representation of my private organs. I want to distance myself from such false and untrue malicious stories destined at killing my political career,” part of his statement read.
He posted the statement on his Facebook page. He has since deleted his Twitter handle since the video started doing rounds on Twitter.
The presidential hopeful has been under sharp criticism from a section of Kenyans following the viral video.
A week ago, a woman accused Kituyi of assault at a five-star hotel in Mombasa.
The complainant said the incident happened in May and she filed a report at Nyali Police Station.
According to People Daily, the woman accused him of dragging her out of bed and kicked her severally while she was on the floor.
The reason behind this incident, she explained, was allegedly because she turned down Kituyi’s advances.
Following the assault, she sustained knee injuries which she sought treatment for at the Coast General.
Kituyi has since denied the reports saying it was false and that he has never assaulted a woman in his life.
“Someone had written a report claiming I had assaulted her but it was not true. I’ve never beaten any woman in my life nor do I intend to ever do it at any given time. We sorted out the case and it was withdrawn,” he stated.
However, Nyali OCS Albert Chebii said the case has not been withdrawn.
“We are still investigating the matter.”
