Activist Boniface Mwangi and Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen turned twitter to a battle ground Friday night.

The barrage of words was triggered by Chief Justice David Maraga’s order on Wednesday where he said that everyone must obey the law.

His directive followed a spate of instances where court orders were disobeyed by personalities on top echelons of power.

On Monday, Justice Luka Kimaru ordered Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett and DCI boss George Kinoti to produce firebrand politician and self-proclaimed NRM general Miguna Miguna before the court at 2pm.

However, this never happened. He summoned the IG on Tuesday but he never showed up.

Maraga in his statement condemned such deeds stating no one is above the law.

“The recent disregard of court orders is an act that is not only inimical to the rule of law but also completely at odds with Kenyans’ constitutional rights,” said Maraga.

“To disobey a court order is not only a violation of the constitution but also dereliction of public duty.”

Murkomen in a tweet criticized Maraga’s directive saying he should not comment on any matter ongoing before the court.

“On what legal basis does a CJ issue a press statement on a matter which is alive in court? Isn’t the CJ interfering with Judicial independence? can’t he wait for his time to hear the matter in SCORK?

Judges speak from the bench through rulings and judgement not press statements,” the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator said in the tweet.

But Mwangi was quick to bash Murkomen telling him to shut up and only talk when he plans on engaging in constructive issues.

“…When you’re done with Uhuru, come back we engage in common sense,” read part of his tweet which contained unprintable words.

Murkomen in response to the activist’s tweet fought back saying “Since you don’t have the intellectual capacity to engage me I can understand why your language revolves around the human rear part and its waste.”

This triggered yet another round of word exchange this time Mwangi using NYS SH1.6 billion heist in telling off the Senator who in one way had his name dragged into the scandal.

“You are a thief! You stole NYS money! Why would I envy a thief? You have nothing for me to envy. l don’t have licking skills and zero ambition to be a thief. You are right, l have no capacity to engage a thief … You are too crass for my class!”

Murkomen responded in a series of tweets: “God has blessed me in a manner you can only envy. Sore and bitter losers are always uncivilized.

“You are ravenous Boni that’s why your examples revolve around alimentary canal and NYS. Sorry I can’t feed you buddy.”
