Kenyan musician Charles Kanyi alias ‘Jaguar’ appeared before a Kirinyaga court on Monday to answer to charges of reckless driving which caused the death of two people.

He denied the charges and was freed on sh50, 000 bond.

The accident happened on March 23 along Sagana-Makutano highway around 3.pm when his Range Rover car hit a boda boda carrying Peter Mugo, 27, and his passenger, Sinfolian Maingi, 25, a bar attendant and killed them instantly.

It is alleged that though Jaguar has been charged with reckless driving, the car was being driven by a lady at the time of the accident.

Witnesses at the scene said that the two switched places immediately after the accident and the musician took the fall for the accident.

Kenyans accused Police of trying to cover up the investigation on who the driver was at the time of the accident.

However, Mwea West OCPD Sameul Seurey maintains Jaguar was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
