Jane Mbijiwe, the mother of missing security consultant Mwenda Mbijiwe was on Monday holed up in a six-hour meeting with Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) boss George Kinoti.
Jane suspects foul play in her son’s disappearance now in its second week.
They met at DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road. She said that she needed information on what the police have so far on the case.
Jane accused the police of withholding information about the progress of the case at a time her family is in distress over the disappearance of her son.
She travelled to the city to meet Kinoti following reports that a car Mbijiwe had used before disappearing was traced to Murang’a and then Kiambu although vandalized at Kamiti Corner.
Mbijiwe is reported to have hired a car for Ksh3,500 a day for three weeks. He owed the car’s owner, Edward Mwangi Ksh24,000 and had cleared Ksh49,000 before he disappeared.
Jane says she will only return to Meru when her son is found.
Mbijiwe, a former Kenya Air Force commander is the founder of Eye On Security (Kenya) Limited.
He communicated with his family before his phone went off prompting his sister Tamara to report the case of a missing person at Central Police Station.
DCI detectives were last week following leads on individuals that the former Kenya Air Force Officer interacted with before he was reported missing by his family.
