My problem is not Abagusii community but “old man” Maraga-Uhuru

President Uhuru Kenyatta has stated he has no problem with the Abagusii community; only the “old man”-Chief Justice David Maraga.

“I have no problem with Abagusii, I have a problem with the old man (Chief Justice David Maraga) and the decision delivered by his court,” said the President on Wednesday at Nakuru State House as Daily Nation quotes.

He met a delegation of elected leaders from Kisii and Nyamira counties.

Uhuru said he only has issues with the Supreme Court which nullified his election but not the Abagusii community.

On September 1, 4 Supreme Court Judges ruled in favor on NASA which had filed a petition challenging Uhuru’s election.

The August 8 polls have since been nullified and repeat polls set for October 17.

In a tirade, Uhuru called Maraga and his colleagues “wakora” (thugs), a statement that stirred political waters.

He said the ruling frustrated him.

“I am hurt and angry, did he expect me to be happy and laughing. I have to defend myself.. I have to say the truth because I am human otherwise I will be pretending. How would you feel if your victory is taken away from you.”

However, he defended himself saying opposition led by Raila Odinga has been spreading a lie to tarnish his image among the Abagusii community.

Deputy President William Ruto added: “What case do we have with Maraga? Did we take Kisiis to court? We don’t have a problem with Kisiis..the only thing we said is we had an issue with the judgment. Raila is spreading propaganda that Jubilee is fighting Kisiis.”
