A suspect believed to be an Al Shabaab sympathizer in Nairobi has been arrested.
Police arrested Francis Macharia Karishu Sunday evening in Kayole and handed over to the anti-terrorism police unit.
Police had issued Sh1 million bounty on him over claims that he has been printing fake identity cards for Al Shabaab terrorist.
Karishu reportedly operates a business by the name Paste Printers located within Ridges Building along Nairobi’s Luthuli Avenue.
Security sources say in his business premises, this is where he prints fake identity cards, bank cheques, and fake education certificates among other things.
Karishu is reported to have printed four fake IDs used by two terror suspects who were arrested in February planning a massive bombing attack on the Judiciary, Parliament, KICC and other key government institutions.
According to police, the suspect processed four fake Kenyan IDs that were used by two terror suspects- Abdimajit Hassan Adan and Mohamed Nane, who were planning to carry out a bomb attack in Nairobi.
Abdimajit and Nane were arrested at Merti in Isiolo County in February. They were driving an explosive-ridden Mitsubishi SUV which they planned to use in their terror attack in the city.
Before his arrest, police had warned members of the public that the terror group was planning an attack during the Ramadhan period.
Another terror suspect said to be “armed and dangerous” is on the prowl according to police reports.

Police are also looking for another “armed and dangerous” suspect from Kitui Anthony Munyasya alias Abdalla is highly trained having been an operative in Somalia since 2014.
“He was recently deployed to the country as part of operatives who were to conduct an attack in Nairobi in February,” Owino said according to the Star.
Munyasya is said to be a close associate of Abdimajit; another terror suspect who is in police custody.
