Robert Burale, a famed motivational speaker and city Pastor on Monday shocked many after revealing that he tested positive for COVID-19.

In a post on Facebook, Burale noted that the virus took a toll on him last week on Wednesday and had to be rushed to Nairobi Hospital for treatment.

He recalled developing shortness of breath which became extreme by the day.

“Last week Wednesday I (after recording an FB program that airs of Fridays) was struggling to breath and rushed to Nairobi Hospital where I was tested for Covid-19 and I tested positive,” he said.

Once at the hospital, he tested positive for coronavirus and was immediately isolated.

In his narration, he painted a grim picture of the reality of the virus in the country saying that he was heartbroken seeing old men fight for their lives in the isolation ward.

“Well ladies and gentlemen, still in shock, you are taken to a treated lift. It opens for you and you are briefed. When the lift opens you will find somebody waiting for you. I found a gentleman dressed in the full PPE. (This I only see in movies). He immediately calmed me down and walked me to the bed. As I walked through I saw grown men fighting for their lives. I was scared,” Burale said.

He thanks God that his teenage daughter tested negative for coronavirus.

Burale said he has been responding well to treatment and is looking forward to being discharged.

“For two days I fought for my life under the great care of the doctors and nurses at Nairobi Hospital… I saw the hand of God… my progress is good… my vitals are responding well.”

The motivational speaker while calling on Kenyans to be cautious, said that he does not know where he contracted it from.

He warned that coronavirus is real saying that those who are not taking it seriously should rethink.

“For anyone who thinks this thing is a joke… may the Lord have mercy on you,” he warned.
