PCEA Neema Church on Sunday, May 28th held their dedication service of the new sanctuary located at 201 Coburn St. Lowell MA, 01852.

The service started with a prayer at the old address, followed by a 2-mile procession with hundreds of congregants escorted by the Lowell Police, to the new location.

The church was started on March 23rd, 2014 at 450 Chelmsford Street in Lowell; and later formally inaugurated and it’s founding minister Rev. Dr. Karīmi Mūmbūi inducted in a service conducted by the then PCEA Moderator Very Rev. David Gathanju on Sept. 14, 2014.

The church has since then been struggling to acquire their own worship space. To this end, the Session appointed and charged a committee under the chairmanship of Mr. William Mūngai with the daunting task of searching, identifying and recommending an ideal property; be it land or building.

Thereafter, a fundraising committee under the chairmanship of Mrs. Salome Njoroge was formed. The church finally settled on 201 Coburn St. Lowell. The dedication service held on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 is, therefore, a milestone; a result of prayers, fundraising efforts, sacrifices, and unity of purpose.

The church is grateful to her many friends and the Kenyan Community for all the immense support.

The church was honored to have the presence of the moderator of the PCEA’s 21st General Assembly Rt. Rev. Julius Mwamba, and PCEA ministers Revs. Mūngai Wakaba, Josphat Werū, Stephen Njoroge, Geofrey Nyaga, John Nyaga, Dr. Johnson Mwara and Prof. Mūgī Kamau, Pastor Gathecha, Dr. Kimatu plus the PCEA’s National Woman’s Guild Organizer, Mrs. Veronica Mūchiri and several other local pastors who graced the occasion.

To God be the Glory now and forever more. AMEN
