The city under the sun, Nairobi is playing host to American RnB star Ashanti as she takes her vacation.
Ashanti, a Grammy award-winning RnB artiste jetted into the country on Monday much to the surprise of her fans and Kenyans as well.
However, she only shared a few videos steering clear of questions on how long she will be staying.
“The mother land love” in one video, the ‘Always on Time’ hit singer captioned one of the videos that she sent out to her fans.
Going by the second video, she was having a moment of her life enjoying coconut curry snapper. Reports indicate that she is currently staying at the prestigious Hemingways Nairobi, a five-star hotel in the neighbourhoods of Karen.
Hemingways offers ‘presidential-like’ treatment and big a VIP, Ashanti will get this superb feel of being in Kenya.
Ashanti is a big name in American RnB having been in the game in the early 2000s.
Her visit comes a year after Selena Gomez, another America RnB crooner visited Kenya.
Gomez, the voice behind ‘The Heart Wants What It Wants’ visited Kenyan schools under construction in partnership with WE organization.
Months after the trip to Kenya, she released a video asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to make education in the country a priority.
She cited that poor and marginalized communities missed out on education opportunities, a wrong that President Uhuru made a promised to correct.
“Countless students in Kenya are not receiving a quality education including 59% of girls who are not even going to school,” she said in the video that was posted on her Facebook page on March 4, 2020.
“I’m joining you to ask the Kenyan minister of education and President Kenyatta to show how they plan to live up to the 30% promise,” she concluded.
Other celebrities who have visited Kenya in the recent past include British model, Naomi Campbell who came to Kenya for a vogue shoot but at an undisclosed location.
