Police arrest suspects found ferrying crude weapons in Gatundu during jubilee primaries

Police in Gatundu have arrested three people who were found traveling in a vehicle loaded with crude weapons in Ichaweri village, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s backyard.

The three suspects traveling in a Toyota Noah are reported to have been planning how to disrupt the nomination exercise in the area.

Wooden batons and slashers together with campaign materials bearing the names of three aspirants for the constituency’s seat were among things discovered upon a thorough search of the vehicle.

Police have since launched investigations to establish who among the three aspirants was behind the planning of the violence.

Witness account according to Daily Nation indicates that the suspects were in a convoy of 10 vehicles but one the Toyota Noah was impounded together with its occupants.

But the rest managed to take off after they realized that their activities have been reported to the authorities by the locals of the area.
