President Uhuru holds key talks with four G7 leaders

President Uhuru Kenyatta during the G7 meeting was able to meet and talk with four of the six leaders over the weekend, according to a report by The State House.

Uhuru represented the country’s relevance in the global market.

“As a democracy with a growing and mixed economy, that is facing global terrorism, Kenya’s success is key to the G7’s democratic countries whose priorities are protecting the global security, protecting democracy and expanding opportunities for their private sector,” Mr. Esipisu said.

President Uhuru discussed infrastructure in his meeting with Japan prime minister Shinzo Abe, President of France Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the prime minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.

He followed up on progress in the execution of agendas agreed during the Tokyo International Conference for Africa last year in his meeting with Japan prime minister Mr. Abe He also discussed cooperation on investing in the sector.

The president is said to have focused mostly on security and industrialization in his discussion with the President of France Emmanuel Macron.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel invited President Uhuru to the G20 meeting in Hamburg in July.

They discussed cooperation on health and security with Mr. Trudeau.

The White House spokesman Mr Esipisu optimistically said the President’s participation at the meeting in Taormina could lead to increased investments in Kenya, having put the country at a competitive edge.

President Uhuru was invited to address the G7 about innovation as a factor of economic growth in Africa.
