Presidential running mates debate turns into an interview, one shows up

Little was known of Japhet Kavinga’s running mate, Eliud Muthiora Kariara until Monday’s no show running mate debate which he was the only one who attended.

Kariara took to stage with a show of courage and for 90 minutes, he endeared himself to Kenyans.

His strong articulation and grasp of teething issues in the country made him the talk of social media.

It is here that Jamhuri News reveals that Kariara is in the banking industry but has a strong passion for transforming lives by offering alternative political leadership.

More captivating is his bio on LinkedIn profile, which he describes himself as: “Gifted with exceptional leadership, team building skills, strategic and organizational planning skills and interpersonal skills.”

His areas of interest are Forex trading, corporate Finance and Equities.

Even before the debate had started, the youthful running mate in one of his social media accounts had stated that Kenya needs leaders who can be accountable.

And following his solo-show at the debate, leaders within political circles in Jubilee and NASA have praised him.

Kibra MP Ken Okoth said it was uplifting to see and hear Kariara articulate issues with a professional yet leadership mindset.

“It was refreshing to hear him and it challenges us to think what do we think about leadership,” said the MP on Tuesday at one of the TV station during an interview.

Kakamega Senator Dr. Bonny Khalwale in a tweet congratulated Kariara for participating in the debate.

Political analyst Prof Edward Kisiangani praised Kariara in a tweet stating he was impressed by his coherence and boldness throughout the 90-minute debate session.
