Proof that Chipukeezy lied on meeting Kevin Hart emerges

Chipukeezy with Kevin Hart after a Kenyan actress connected him.

In an interview with a Kenyan media in August, a Kenyan comedian Chipukeezy vehemently lied about how he met his idol, Kevin Hart.

Vincent Muasya a.k.a Chipukeezy visited the US this past summer, where he met a popular and highly celebrated Kenyan Hollywood actress, Christine Wawira.

Christine, a well-connected actress in Hollywood managed to quickly connect Chipukeezy to Kevin Hart, but in an interview with NTV upon his return to Kenya, he lied on national TV about how he met his idol, Kevin.

The comedian said in the interview that a very kind ”white lady” connected him to comedian Kevin Hart.

Christine said she questioned the Kenyan comedian via text why he lied about meeting Kevin, and he said that ”he had to protect his brand”, and that Christine is ”the white lady in that script”.

In a conversation between Christine and Chipukeezy seen by Jamhuri News, she tells him how nice it would have been if he told the truth.

Christine: ”I just saw your interview about meeting Kevin Hart”

Chipukeezy: ”Hey”

Christine: ”What a story, my friend was like didn’t you help him meet Kevin? Ati you said some white lady helped you meet him?”

Chipukeezy: ”You’re the white lady in the script”

Christine: ”Why couldn’t you just have said it was me and that would have gotten me a lot of exposure in Kenya? I’d never do that to you if you helped me meet my idol. I’d tell everyone it was you. Especially if you are an up and coming artist. I’d do anything to put your name out there. Anyway, I’m just surprised. I’m all about Kenyans helping one another. Honestly, I’m disappointed. That was your chance to let people know about me. But it’s cool.”

Chipukeezy: ”I was just trying to save my image girl…Kenyan media was trying to tell my story of why and how I met with Kevin. Everyone was saying that I flew all the way to come and take a picture to be a groupie etc, it was looking bad for me…So I decided to change the story and told it my way…Am sorry for disappointing you but I had to protect my brand girl…Am sorry.”

Christine revealed to Nairobi News that she also invited Chipukeezy to the BET Awards, but he ended up trusting someone else who didn’t succeed to get him in. He later allegedly asked her to forward some of the videos which she took at the Awards to him, and he allegedly posted the videos on social media implying he was there.

In a world full of challenges, and in a country where people of color get second priority, Christine believes in supporting one another.

”Let’s support our entrepreneurs. Young and old. Encourage one another. We need to continue to open our minds to infinite possibilities.” Christine told AW Magazine in June.

Christine is a tough go-getter and a single mother of two who has shaped he career in Hollywood through thick and thin. On Friday, she expressed her disappointment in those who couldn’t understand that she didn’t necessarily need the comedian to mention her name, but to just tell the truth.

”The truth shall always set you free. And to the ones that support me and understand, thank you for the love, the messages and phone calls.” She posted on her Facebook.

Christine is soaring high in Hollywood. She recently told a diaspora magazine that she got signed by manager Chris Roe, and according to IMDb, she’s casting an upcoming short film currently in post-production.

UPDATE:

Chipukeezy apologized to Christine later Friday afternoon on his official Instagram saying:

”Hi Wawira, I appreciated you for holding my hand when I needed it. I am sorry I did my interview in a way that didn’t acknowledge you or give you credit.
For a person who relied on other established artists to climb the ladder, I atleast owed you a mention. For that I am sorry forgive me.
To my fans and everyone who has my back, I am sorry for letting you down. I have learnt a valuable lesson and will strive to do better always.” Wrote Chipukeezy on Instagram
