When the names Evans Kidero and Rachel Shebesh are mentioned; memories go back to an ugly incident that saw the former Nairobi Governor slap the latter.

But many people are not aware that this cost Kidero close to Ksh30 million as reparation.

On Thursday, Shebesh who was a guest at Ghetto Radio recalled the September 2013 incident.

She said that Kidero can never again lay his hands on a woman following the incident.

“Kidero paid me a lot of money, I’m sure he wouldn’t repeat such an offense,” she said adding that she set a precedence of the consequences.

“…to slap a woman in this country, nowadays, there is a precedence. I’m not sure people have such an amount of money. He paid me close to Ksh30 million,” she confessed.

Shebesh further said that her toughness was on call to ensure that women leaders are respected and treated equally by their male counterparts.

“If I hadn’t been tough, every woman elected into office would have faced such challenges,” she added.

Nairobi County employees had just downed their tools Shebesh stormed City Hall to confront Kidero.

It is here that they exchanged words before the former Nairobi Governor slapped her, an act captured on tape.
