Opposition chief Raila Odinga has threatened to take Jubilee leadership to the International Criminal Court (ICC) over Sunday killings in Ruaraka, Nairobi.

About 11 people, he said, were killed mysteriously in what he termed to be ethnic-fueled kind of deaths.

The Sunday morning killings have sparked tension in the city.

He said it is now evident the deaths were well planned and executed and that they targeted certain people from a select community.

Raila claimed the deaths have been engineered by government.

“These killings are a product of careful planning and it is clear that they were executed in a manner to suggest that particular ethnic communities were targeted,” said the NASA leader according to Daily Nation.

He said President Uhuru Kenyatta who is the head of government act immediately and stop further deaths.

“These killings are orchestrated by the government and what is happening now can only be equated to 2007.

“We want to tell those responsible that The Hague (ICC) is still an option,” threatened Raila.

In reference to statements by Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto regarding chaos that broke in the city on Friday after his return from the US, he said it indicts the government of sinister moves.

The Jubilee duo on Saturday while attending the funeral of the late Nyeri Governor Dr Wahome Gakuru in Nyeri condemned NASA for chaos witnessed in some parts of the city on Friday

A PSV matatu was burnt down at Muthurwa while scores of shops and kiosks were looted massively.

Four people were shot dead during the procession but Raila in a statement claimed that those who were shot dead by police were 15.

He said that both Uhuru and Ruto have encouraged inhuman acts by police instead of castigating them for shooting at his supporters inordinately.

“Instead of apologising, we saw them try to approve of the police action and encourage it.

“Things are bad, and what can save the country is the intervention of the international community. We shall be heading to the ICC. Our people must remain patient but vigilant.”
