Raila willing to work with Uhuru and transform Kenya to ‘Canaan’

NASA Chief Raila Odinga now says he is ready to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta and change the country for the better.

Raila spoke on Monday during an interview with Hot 96 radio.

He explained his push for dialogue as one of the prerequisites that will leave a hallmark of change in the country’s electoral and governance system.

“Uhuru should agree that things must change. Kenya desires change and he can help in creating that change,” averred Raila.

“We are willing to work with him in this regard and bring change. This will help him build his legacy.”

He invited Uhuru to be part of the journey to the Promised Land, Canaan.

“Kenya has great potential and we can turn this country into the Canaan that we have been talking about. We must march to Canaan.”

Raila spoke about his willingness to work with the President after heightened pressure from international community to shelve his oath plan.

US ambassador Robert Godec has been on the forefront pushing talks between the two leaders.

On Monday, Godec met the Leader of Minority in Parliament John Mbadi where among other things; he reiterated his call for dialogue and US willingness to work with Kenya in going forward.

However, NASA insists that they will swear-in Raila and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka on January 30 at Uhuru Park.

Raila has also dared police to arrest him over treason charges.

He noted this year will be a year of change. “2017 was a terrible year but we must make 2018 the year of transition and that there is is hope. I can see light at the end of the tunnel.”
