The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) conducted a drunk drivers crackdown on Saturday morning.
The crackdown was conducted along Nairobi-Nakuru Highway looking for drivers without proper documentation and those driving under the influence of alcohol.
As the officers were going on with their duties, a white range rover driven by a suspected drunk driver was stopped at the roadblock set up by the police. The driver could not stop and he ran over one NTSA officer on duty at the scene.
