Blogger Robert Alai was on Friday afternoon whisked to Kilimani Police Station after assaulting gospel singer Ringtone Apoko.

The two had an ugly confrontation in Kilimani.

Alai is reported to have crashed his car into Ringtone’s at a roundabout.

The blogger got out of his vehicle wielding a club or ‘rungu’, which he used to hit ringtone on the face with allegedly.

Videos across social media show the blogger fleeing attempting to flee from the scene but boda boda riders blocked his way until cops got to the scene.

Ringtone recorded a statement at the Kilimani Police station and proceeded to the hospital to treat his injuries.

Alai is yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.

It is not clear if or not it was a publicity stunt, as has been the case with the artist just before releasing a new song.

Detectives from Kilimani Police Station say a file on the case has been opened.

This will be the umpteenth time that Alai is courting trouble.

In 2019, he was arrested for posting gory photos of eight AP officers who died after their vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device (IED) in Khorof Harar, Wajir County.

The National Police Service, in a statement, said that he showed disrespect for fallen officers.

“The unfeeling act of posting pictures of our fallen heroes online by one blogger is very unfortunate and inhumane. It is not only unpatriotic but is equally uncouth and unacceptable,” the then police spokesperson Charles Owino divulged.
