Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i on Monday met the wrath of a group of rowdy youths from Kawangware as he tried to leave one of the schools.

The Acting Interior CS who doubles up as Education boss had just finished addressing K.C.P.E candidates at Gatina Primary School when they camped outside the gate and blocked him from leaving.

With “Matiang’i must go” chants gaining momentum, anti-riot police sprang into action and lobbed teargas canisters at the rowdy group and dispersed them.

The CS later left for Satellite Primary School in Kibera.

But no sooner had he left than the same group pelted stones inside the school and left several cars damaged.

Police dispersed them with teargas.

The area under ODM’s Simba Arati (Dagoretti North) has been under intense battle since Friday night.

Rival groups from NASA and Jubilee are fighting each other.

So far, property worth millions has been damaged.

Political leaders from Jubilee lead by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu toured the area on Sunday and appealed for calmness.
