Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang’ arrested after administering Raila’s ‘oath’

One day after leading the “swearing-in” ceremony of NASA principal Raila Odinga on Tuesday, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwan’g has been arrested.

Kajwang was arrested Wednesday afternoon immediately after he left Milimani Law Courts where he had gone to represent MPs who are challenging the reduction of their salaries and allowances.

The MP administered the controversial oath to Raila Odinga, swear him in as the ‘people’s president’ at Uhuru Park. He was accompanied by lawyer Miguna Miguna during the ceremony.

Kajwang was arrested by plainclothes police and was taken to Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi for interrogation.

The MP acted the role of Chief Justice during the ceremony, while former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna played the role of Registrar of the Judiciary.
