Nakuru County Senator-elect is in the eye of a storm following accusations of developing “bad blood” for her step children.

The 43-year old Senator has been accused by Beatrice Wanjiku-first wife to her alleged husband Sam Mburu of “hating” her children.

The Children occasionally visit their father who lives with the Senator-elect.

Wanjiku has since moved to the Chief Magistrates Court in Nairobi to challenger her ex-husband plea for custody of their two children.

In an affidavit dated April 2016, she says as quoted by the Nairobian: “The children have complained to me about the applicant’s wife who hates the children, orders them away from her and violently swears at them that she never wants to see them again. When the stepmother is asked why she behaves that way, she says the children are ‘grumpy’ and call her grandy on account of her advanced age.”

Mburu had filed a petition seeking to reverse a consent order by the court that granted Wanjiku custody of their two children in 2013.

“I am further informed by the children that when they spend time with their father, the applicant is always away from home and if custody of the children is granted to the applicant, he would subject them to the whims and mercies of an absentee dad, stepmother, mistress or simply other women,” further states Wanjikui in her affidavit.

Susan, US-trained lawyer and politician is 10 years older than Mburu who is 33. She is the billionaire businessman’s third wife and they live at her residence in Karen.

In January 2012, Wanjiku had filed a suit claiming sh757, 000 per month as upkeep for her children from her husband.

She accused Mburu of wife battery, heavy drinking and miraa addiction besides his engagement in reckless sexual relationships and fleeing their matrimonial home without notice.

She said the plaintiff was capable of giving her children a good life.

“The plaintiff is a fabulously wealthy man and it is true the costs and standards of living at our Kilimani home is Sh757,000 per month. This is the standard the plaintiff set for his family. I know the plaintiff has a mischievous plan to turn me and the children into destitutes (sic) by denying us finances and forcing us to live in the less agreeable parts of the city.”

In the suit files, wanjiku listed Landmark Freight Services, which has two branches in China and rakes in profits estimated at Sh10 million monthly to belong to her estranged husband.

Also, she listed 15 rental houses in Nakuru, six luxury cars, 43 rental flats in Embakasi’s Airport North Road and 62 flats in Kitengela.

However, Mburu in a counter petition said he earns a salary of sh500, 000 per months and he would only afford sh136, 000 as monthly maintenance allowance for his children.

The tycoon was reportedly financing Susan’s high-end campaign.

She started using a chopper for her campaigns months before the official start of the campaign season.
