Juliet Ongweno, the wife to the late Police Constable John Ongweno who was murdered in Nakuru by his alleged lover Corporal Caroline Kangogo has spoken.

Juliet told Citizen TV that she did not know her husband had an affair with Caroline.

She recalls Caroline calling her beginning June and asking about her children and how they are all fairing.

She would call to know more about her family.

In July, she called Juliet and informed her that Ongweno was back in Nakuru safely after a trip to Kericho.

“On Thursday, July 1, she called me confirming that John had arrived in Kericho. John had gone to work. Then on Saturday, July 3, during the day, she called and told me John would come to the kids’ graduation, which was set for Saturday, July 10. That was the last communication I made with her,” Juliet recounted.

Juliet became suspicious when Caroline asked her to allow her kids to come to Nakuru and hang out with her. She obliged because she did not want to keep arguing against it with her.

“Anytime she called me…it could be; how are the kids? How are you people fairing on? I want one day John to come and pick the kids and let them come to Nakuru for some hangouts…things like that,” she recalled. So to me, I wasn’t interested in giving her my kids, but I accepted her requests because I did not want to engage more with her,” she said.

Ongweno had called his father and promised to visit them in Homa Bay, his father Edward Ouru said.

He maintained that Ongweno was always peaceful and he hated arguments. He always walked away to stay off arguments and unnecessary fights.
