South Sudan diplomat collapses, dies at KCB’s banking hall at Kencom

An envoy from South Sudan collapsed and died on the spot at the Kenya Commercial Bank, Moi Avenue Branch at Kencom on Thursday.

Michael Nyang, South Sudan’s ambassador to Eritrea had visited the bank to withdraw some case when the incident happened.

The incident happened shortly after 1 pm.

The bank had medics on call try to resuscitate the diplomat for minutes but their efforts hit a brick wall as he was already gone.

South Sudan Ambassador to Kenya Chol Ajongo confirmed the death.
However, he remained tight-lipped in issuing more details saying that the deceased’s family must be informed first before more information is divulged.

“I can confirm that we have lost one of our colleagues. He died this afternoon in Nairobi. I cannot share any further information for now until we inform the family and a postmortem is done,” Ajongo told the Nation.

Nairobi Police Commander Rashid Yakub confirmed the death of the diplomat adding that it happened at the VIP section of the bank where the deceased was withdrawing money from.
