Supreme Court sets date for Pre-trial of Raila Odinga poll petition

The Supreme Court of Kenya has announced that it will hold the pre-trial conference on Raila Odinga’s presidential petition on Saturday starting at 7 pm.

The pretrial is aimed at setting the rules of engagement such as identifying the pressing issues in dispute.

Also to be addressed during the pre-trial conference are admissibility of any documentary, technical, expert, pre-recorded, digital or electronic evidence.

The amount of time that each party will spend presenting their case will also be determined in this conference.

The supreme court has urged all counsel appearing before the court to be fully robed.

“Kindly note that all counsel appearing before the court should be fully robed,” reads part of the notice signed by Registrar of the Supreme Court Esther Nyaiyaki.

NASA filed a petition challenging the election of Uhuru Kenyatta, citing numerous irregularities.

“We have a bombshell. We will demonstrate that fraud and forgery of monstrous proportion were committed during the election process,” said James Orengo.

NASA is also seeking scrutiny of all presidential ballot papers cast on August 8, access to and audit on election results transmission servers and logs.
