Suspect who masterminded Nairobi West Sh72 million ATM heist gunned down

Wycliffe Oduor, the main suspect in the Sh72 million heist staged at a Standard Chartered ATM in Nairobi West in September 2019 has been killed after a fierce shoot out with DCI detectives.

Oduor, alias Vinii who has been at large since the heist was killed in Kayole as detectives engaged two more criminals who were in Oduor’s company, reports the Star.

His colleagues managed to escape via a getaway motorbike.
Reports indicate that police responded to a distress call by a Kayole resident who was being terrorized by the criminals.

Oduor, together with other gang members posed as police officers and made away with Sh72 million shillings stuffed in three huge gunny bags from G4S.

The cash was in a transit G4S vehicle and they waylaid it along Witu road. He was arrested and released on Sh500, 000 bond alongside three other G4S officials suspected to have orchestrated the heist.

A knife and a pistol are among the things recovered from the suspect.
