Things are not back to normal, Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi has warned as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to soar.

While giving an update on Monday at Afya House, she said that 25 more cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours putting the total tally at 490.

Fifteen of the new cases are in Nairobi and 10 are in Mombasa. Alarmingly, Kariobangi South had 10 cases while Kawangware had two cases, Kahawa West (1) and Mathare (2).

Old Town, Mvita and Bombolulu are the areas where the new cases were confirmed in Mombasa.

Dr Mwangangi said that none of the 25 patients has a history of travel. The patients are aged between six months – 60 years.

All of them are Kenyans. Thirteen are male and 12 are female.
The CAS said things are far from normal, a statement that was inspired by latest happenings in different places where some Kenyans have been seen to relax on some of the laid down regulations.
