Police in South Africa are investigating the disappearance of a Kenya woman in Cape Town.

Faith Manyara, 43, has reportedly been missing for two weeks. The mother of three runs a salon in Kraaifontein, Cape Town and she has been working there for 10 years.

Her eldest son 23-year old Ebrahim Ongori said her mother routinely left their house at 9:30am on January 23 but she never got to the salon.

Ongori said his two siblings had left the house for school earlier and he also left for work before she left her house located at Plein Street, Parow.

“My mother has never done this type of thing. She only goes to work and spends time with us,” He told South Africa’s IOL news.

He said they sensed something was wrong after a colleague who works with his mother came home in the evening looking for her.

“At around 7pm, a lady who works with my mom came home without her and said she had been trying to reach her all day.

“We immediately knew something was not right because she always comes straight home after work,” added Ongori.

He said it has been difficult searching for his mother who has been single for long and she was the bread winner.

“We are with family now but it is not easy. We just have to stay strong.”

He said they still have hope to find their mother alive. “Our biggest hope is that my mom is still alive and that we will find her,” said he. “We miss her very much. She did everything for us. She played the role of a mother and father. Anybody with any information must please contact me.”

Ongori can be reached through cellphone number 0733 742 389 or police crime stop on 08600 10111.
