Trans Nzoia leads in new COVID-19 infections, cases rise to 37,489

Kenya recorded 141 more COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 37,489.

Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi while speaking at the Thika Level Five Hospital in Kiambu County said that a total of 3,307 samples were tested in the last 24 hours

Of the new cases only seven were foreigners.

A total of 103 males and 38 females tested positive for COVID-19.

 The youngest case was a four-year-old child and the oldest was aged 74.

Another 81 patients were discharged, 69 from various hospitals and 12 from the home-based care programme bringing the total number of recoveries to 24,334.

Sadly, five patients have succumbed, bringing the total number of fatalities to 669.

Trans Nzoia led in the number of positive cases on Thursday.
