Top Democrats announced Wednesday evening that they had reached a deal with President Trump to protect young undocumented immigrants from deportation.

The Washington Post reported that Democratic leaders announced late Wednesday that they agreed with President Trump to pursue a legislative deal that would protect hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants from deportation and enact border security measures that don’t include building a physical wall.

The president met with Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi at White House and agreed to a legislative deal that would protect DACA immigrants. The deal does not include the building of the wall. The leaders also talked about tax reform, trade and infrastructure.

The legislation, if it goes through the Senate, might see close to 1 million undocumented immigrants who came to America as kids find a path to citizenship.
