Uhuru accusing Raila of lodging 10 court cases to sabotage August polls

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga and his lieutenants want to delay elections and form basis for a ‘nusu mkate government’, states President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The President on Thursday said hitherto, the opposition has lodged 10 cases with the courts and all of them are about the general elections.

He said that this is evidence enough that opposition is out to sabotage August 8 polls and create a situation where they can negotiate to have a ‘nusu mkate’ transitional government.

“Today he went to court as part of his plot to block Kenyans from voting. Kenyans have a right to vote to choose their leaders,” said Uhuru in Karatina, Mathira constituency.

He spoke alongside his Deputy William Ruto during a Jubilee tour of Nyeri County.

Ruto noted that Raila has been engaging Jubilee in political witch-hunt because he has nothing else to sell Kenyans except propaganda.

“He does not have a track record so he wants to block elections,” said the DP.

Speaking in relation to statements by Raila in Kajiado that non-locals should leave; Uhuru said every Kenyan has right to live anywhere in the country irrespective of his/her tribe.

“Everyone has a right to settle anywhere in the republic so along as he is a Kenyan citizen regardless of his ethnic background.”

The duo told Nyeri electorate that they have done so much in terms of development and it is enough to buy them a re-election ticket on August 8.

“Our development credentials are clear for everyone to see. That is why we are requesting you to turn out in large numbers and vote for us so that we can continue implementing these developments,” observed Uhuru.

However, NASA in their rally in Trans NzoiaThursday said Jubilee has been playing lip service with Kenyans.

NASA Presidential candidate who led the rally said Jubilee made many promises to Kenyans but has not delivered any of them to Kenyans.

He ridiculed Jubilee’s “Kusema na kutenda” slogan saying Jubilee has turned it to “kusema na ‘tender’”.
