The family of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Sicily Kariuki is in mourning following the death of their daughter, Wendy Muthoni on Sunday.
The deceased passed on at Nairobi Hospital where she had been admitted. Her cause of death is yet to be revealed.
Muthoni was a second-year student at the Jomo Kenyatta University Of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Karen Campus.
President Uhuru Kenyatta condoled with the family pledging support during this difficult time.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of comfort to the family of Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki following the passing away of her daughter Wendy Muthoni today at a Nairobi hospital,” a tweet from State House read.
In a separate tweet, Deputy President William Ruto eulogised the deceased as kind and diligent.
“Our sympathies and prayers to the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Sicily Kariuki following the death of her precious daughter Wendy Muthoni ‘Noni’,” Ruto eulogized.
Her death comes barely a day after renowned actor Charles Bukeko alias Papa Shirandula died on Saturday morning at Karen Hospital.
Bukeko, 58, reportedly died from coronavirus. He developed breathing problem and as quickly rushed to hospital where he passed.
He has been survived by a widow and three children.
Burial preparations are underway.
