United Airlines passenger stung by Scorpion

By Jamhuri News Reporter

United Airlines today confirmed reports that one of their passengers was stung by a scorpion while flying from Houston to Canada. This confirmation comes days after another passenger was dragged off of a plane in a bloody encounter.

United Airlines told ABC News Thursday that they were ”reaching out to the passenger to apologize and discuss the incident.”

Richard Bell and his wife Linda, of Calgary, Canada, were flying home from Houston when the scorpion landed on his head.

“It fell in my hair. I grabbed it and I was hanging onto it by its tail,” Bell told GlobalNews.ca.

“I looked down and I thought, ‘Aw, it kind of looks like a little lobster,” added Linda.

Flight crew contacted medical personnel on the ground and EMS met with Bell upon his arrival in Calgary.

Bell sustained minor injuries and he refused medical treatment.

Over the past few weeks, United Airlines has experienced an adverse public reaction after they denied two girls in leggings to board an aircraft, and later dragging a passenger off of a plane they had overbooked.
