A video has surfaced showing Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, atop her vehicle holding a bundle of notes giving out handouts to a crowd of young men and women ahead of the highly contested Nairobi Jubilee primaries on Monday.
The video shows Wanjiru dishing out sh. 50 notes to the youth.
”So we’re supposed to scramble to her vehicle for a 50 bob? She should bring it to us” said one youth.
Wanjiru is vying for Nairobi gubernatorial seat, intending to beat Peter Kenneth and Mike Sonko in unseating the incumbent, Evans Kidero.
It is against the election laws to give money for votes.
Wanjiru could not be reached for comments at the time this report was published.
