Juja residents woke up to the shock of gruesome murder after a man killed his three children and wife before he set the house on fire in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
The man, Patrick Nderitu Karuiru was also burnt in the house according to police reports.
Neighbours alerted area chief who quickly rushed to the scene and found other neighburs battling the huge fire.
But it was too late.
“Neighbours entered the house and found one burned body of a middle aged man laying at the veranda door. In the bedroom were four bodies. Three children and their mother all aged below 10 years with visible head injuries and on bed the body of the mother of the three kids also having visible injuries,” the police report read as quoted by Capital FM.
Nderitu and his wife, Rosemary Kanini are reported to have had a domestic feud in the past weeks.
