President Uhuru Kenyatta will win repeat polls slated for October 17, opines political analyst Prof Muthai Ngunyi.

“Uhuru will win this election. And if there is anyone out there with a contrary opinion they are welcome to state it but before they state it we want to tell them early enough that they are wrong; Uhuru will win,” says Ngunyi.

He spoke on Sunday in his weekly Fifth Estate show from Fort Hall School of Government in Washington.

He adds that Raia Odinga thinks “the Presidency is a toy invented by his father [Jaramogi Odinga] that was stolen by Uhuru’s father [Mzee Jomo Kenyattta]” and this is why “since Raila was a boy, his head was conditioned to call everybody a thief.”

“If he gets the Presidency from the ‘thieves,’ it’s because he wants to play with it the way you play with a toy.

If he fails to get the Presidency, he will smash it like a jealous boy against the wall, a boy who cannot get the toy he wants,” states the analyst adding “this man in my view is armed and dangerous.”

He said Raila’s “fatal attraction to the Presidency” is what will destroy him.

A panelist in the Show, Nancy also explains why former opposition stalwarts are deserting Raila.

She says politicians always gravitate to the winning side and they cannot be “rented “by a broke politician like Raila who is fundraising from Kenyans to finance his campaigns ahead of repeat polls.

“If Raila is borrowing campaign money from poor peasants it means that he doesn’t have the money to pay rented politicians and this is why they are leaving him one by one,” she notes.

She added that in politics, “you cannot buy a politician, you can only rent one”.

The team said with Raila being “broke”, his call to Kenyans to buy tickets to Cannan on Friday is an act of “political conmanship.”
