Kenyans online cannot keep calm following the emergence of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu’s son, Brian Ndung’u who was arrested for drink-driving.

Ndung’u was apprehended in the wee hours of Monday morning behind the wheel on a Toyota Probox along Muindi Mbingu Street in the central business district of Nairobi.

He was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts where he was charged.

According to the police, Ndung’u was at the time of the arrest too drunk to control the vehicle properly.

Before Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu, Ndung’u pleaded guilty and asked the court to be lenient with him since he is a first-time offender.

He was fined Ksh30,000 or a three-month jail term.

Surprisingly, Ndung’u who is a student at Strathmore University did not ask his politician father for help.

He was remanded at the court cells as he “organized” how he would get the money to pay the fine.

He told a security guy at the court precincts that he only had Ksh10,000. He said that he would not call his parents because he always loves handling things like an adult.
