A few days after comedian Eric Omondi launched the second season of his infamous production “Wife Material Show”, it was marked by chaos as contestants boxed each other at a city club.

The comedian and the contestants were all out for his birthday party on Wednesday night when the incident happened.

In a video doing rounds online, the club’s patrons and police officers were called in to quell the fight that was allegedly started by Tanzanian singer Gigy Money.

Gigy had an altercation with fellow contestant Sumiayah before it degenerated into a fight.

Kyler Jeycman who was seated next to Eric was watching the fight but the blows got to her as well.

Omondi was first to share the viral video.

Many Kenyans now say that this may have been stage-managed to give the show more popularity in its second season which brought in more contestants from Uganda and Tanzania.

In the first season of the show which was held not too long ago, Omondi got a lot of backlash for the show which he only said was scripted after it had ended.

“Disclaimer: Wife Material was a choreographed and scripted entertainment show,” he said.

Many people thought it was a real. He was accused of promoting immorality through the first production of Wife Material Show.

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua bashed the comedian for using his talent the wrong way by promoting what he called “nudity and explicit scenes”.

“So there’s Corona but this fool has been kissing multiple girls and recording these videos in the name of comedy. Another morally bankrupt socialite is recording more videos teaching these young girls how to have sex with Omondi in the devilish mentorship program known as “Mombasa Raha”, Mutua lamented.

On Thursday, Mutua said that Omondi was arrested by DCI detectives for violating Films and Stage Plays Act for producing and distributing unauthorised films dubbed “Wife Material.”
