Corporal Caroline Chemutai Kangogo is the latest sensation in the country owing to her killing spree.

On Monday, reports emerged that she killed Constable John Ogweno at the Kasarani Police Station in Nakuru County.

She fled with his Ceska pistol, which detectives believe she used to shoot Ongweno, an officer she is said to have been in an illicit affair.

This was despite her husband working at the same station and holding a higher rank.

After Ogweno’s shooting, she fled to Juja in Kiambu County, where she booked lodging at Dedamax Hotel in Kimbo at 4 pm.

She invited another cop Peter Ndwiga to the room, and she shot him on the head at close range.

Caroline was captured by the hotel’s CCTV walking out of the facility at midnight.

So, who is this cop killer?

The 34-year-old cop was born in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, in 1987. She attended St Alphonsus high school between 2004 and 2007.

She joined the Kenya Police Training College in Kiganjo in 2008. Here, Caroline emerged as a sharpshooter.

In 2014, she returned to Kiganjo for Corporal training, a position she has held for the last six years.

She has served in several police stations in the country 13 years since joining the Kenya Police Service.

Some of the stations she worked in include Mombasa (2009), Kaloleni (2010-2013), Kiganjo Police Training College (2014 – 2015), and Central Police Station (2015-2021).

In 2019, police records show that she had a disciplinary case for failing to perform her duties.

She is a mother of two young children. Her colleagues at Nakuru Police Station describe her a humble and friendly.

Police are on her pursuit, but reports say she left her phone at the crime scene in Nakuru before fleeing.
