The late Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo’s two wives and one baby mama paid glowing tribute as he was laid to rest at his Siaya home on Thursday.

His first wife Betty Muganda described him as a loving man who went out of his way to see his family live its dream.

They had two children together in their 31-year marriage.

“You were a very hardworking man. You did everything and anything to ensure me and our children were provided for all the time,” she said.

She added that Jakoyo’s dedication to politics was incredibly insane and she at times had issues with it.

“But politics was your life – you breathed politics and lived for it and I respected that and gave you the necessary space and support where possible,” Betty added.

His second wife, Rose Olayo who they met 15 years ago and had a son together in 2012 said she is yet to come to terms with his demise.

“It is only God that can help me through this difficult time. Our time together may have been cut short, but the happiness we shared together, will last a lifetime. I will always deeply miss our moments of reflections when you would assure me and give me your positive advice,” she moaned.

His baby mama identified as Jackie said she will remember him through their son, Allan who graduated with his Master’s in 2017.

“Allan is a special gift that you gave to me and little traits of you in him, I at times call him OJ (Otada Junior). I will always thank you and remember you through him.”

Jakoyo was a long-serving MP in Gem and was a staunch ODM member.
