Arsenal signs 8-year-old Kenyan wonderkid Leo Messo

At eight years of age, Jango alias Leo Messo is the youngest signing by Arsenal Academy during this summer transfer window.

The young boy traces his roots to Ugenya, Siaya County. He will be joining Arsenal’s youth team to continue nurturing his talent.

Young Meso had been eyeing West Ham’s academy but Arsenal saw his talent and took him up.

According to Football London, Messo lives with his parents in London/Essex. His signing by Arsenal granted him a scholarship intake at Hale End.

On Wednesday, Messo posed for a photo alongside Academy manager Per Mertesacker with a number 9 jersey with his name signifying his future ambition to play centre-forward for Arsenal.

Messo will fulfil his dream of following in the steps of his predecessors at the academy, Nigeria duo Chuba Akpom and Alex Iwobi, Ghanaian descent Eddie Nketiah who graduated from the revered Hale End.

After the signing, Messo took a tour of the academy and he is hopeful of becoming a star for the Gunners when he is of age.

Chris Wheatley, the chief reporter for Arsenal is one of the people who posed for a photo with Messo as he displayed his Arsenal shirt.

Kenyan football fans cannot wait to have Messo at the Emirates years to come flying the Kenyan flag high.

Sports personality Carol Radul expressed optimism in Messo. She also clarified that Messo is eight years old and not 10 as earlier reported.

“For the record guys; Leo Messo is 8 years old and not 10. Just clarified with his Dad Smiling face with smiling eyes #FromUgenyaToTheWorld.”
