Wanted terror suspect arrested in Mombasa

Anti-Terror Police Unit have arrested a wanted terror suspect Juma Athmanin Likoni, Mombasa.

Athmanin was apprehended on Friday at 5:30pm by ATPU officers from Mombasa and Kwale counties respectively.

An assortment of the deadly arsenal was found in his Shika Adabu house in likoni.

Two grenades, 10 bullets, an AK 47 rifle and CDs with materials for radicalization, a jungle jacket, his Kenyan passport, and binoculars are among things that were found.

Police also found a 2GB flash drive, a Samsung card reader, a micro SD card and Safaricom and Airtel sim card holders.

ATPU officers are said to have acted on a public tip-off. He was whisked to Likoni police station where he is being held for questioning.

Another terror suspect, Stephen Wangeci, was arrested last week while sneaking into Mandera from Bula Hawa in Somalia.

The arrest of the two terror suspects who have been on police radar comes amid of a high alert issued by police on 9 al-shabaab militants reported to be planning retaliatory attacks in the country.

Habib Karongo alias Jureyj, Juma Were, Mohamed Tajir, Abdullahi Jarso Kotola, Gufu Tari Gufu, Faud Abubakar Mwanswab, Abubakar Abdikadir Abubakar, Issa Abdalla Kauni and Ahmed Said Omar are alleged to be on their way back to terrorize the country.
