Political temperatures in the country are expected to hit a new high with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s return to Raila Odinga’s backyard.

This is according to State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu who announced on Sunday that the President will grace the annual National Drama Festival Gala which will come to a close this week.

Esipisu added that with Uhuru’s visit to the region, he would tour the region to establish just how much development initiated by Jubilee government has impacted ordinary Kenyans.

The President toured the region last week where he promised sh200 million allocation for combating water hyacinth which has affected many lives in the lake region.

Locals and a section of Nyanza’s political class have petitioned the government to help in getting rid of water hyacinth that has affected fishing activities-the lifeline of many families in Nyanza.

This new move by Jubilee according to pundits, could augur well and have their voting basket fetch more votes from the deeply rooted opposition zone.

Nominated Senator Joy Gwendo (Jubilee) said Uhuru’s visit to Kisumu was timely. She said they will encourage the President to address Nyanza residents on the importance to maintain peace during this electioneering period.
