3 suspects arrested in Uganda over Msando’s murder

Three suspects linked to the murder of IEBC’s ICT Manager Chris Msando have been apprehended.

The three, a Kenyan and two Ugandans were arrested by Uganda security agencies, reports Daily Nation.

Police say the three suspects could have been heading to South Sudan in a Toyota Fortuner which they impounded.

Ugandan police also say that the vehicle crossed Kenya-Uganda border on Monday and had Kenyan registration plates.

But at the time of their arrest, the vehicle had Ugandan registration numbers. It was in Northern Uganda making its way to South Sudan.

A search of the Kenyan registration plates revealed they belong to a Kenyan politician Mercedes Benz.

Uganda’s Daily Monitor said Aswa River Region Police Spokesman Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the arrest of the three was related to Msando’s murder.

“The arrest is related to Msando’s death,” the Uganda Police Spokesman told Daily Monitor.

Uganda’s Flying Squad had been following the car since Monday after they were tipped it had crossed the Kenyan border into Uganda.

Okema however, said he has no much details about the three, but “it’s believed the vehicle could be for killers.”

The vehicle and the three suspects were taken to Kampala Police headquarters for further investigation.

Msando was murdered on Friday and dumped at Muguga forest in Kikuyu where it was found by police on Saturday and taken to City mortuary.
