Former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has re-joined Jubilee Party after a short stint as a fifth principal of the National Super Alliance.

On Friday, the Chama Cha Mashinani party boss flanked Deputy President William Ruto to welcome President Uhuru Kenyatta in Kericho.

“I felt lonely. I found myself alone and I have now decided to come back,” said Rutto according to the Star.

He added: “Uhuru and Ruto talked to me into coming back.”

Jubilee brigade will be holding a rally at Kericho’s Kapkatet stadium.

Rutto who joined Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula in the run up to August 8 polls will now campaign for Jubilee ahead of October 17 repeat elections.

He has been missing in action for a while raising queries about his political allegiance.

When asked about his absence from NASA rallies in Nairobi and Kisii region, Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka said Rutto is still in NASA.

The governor was trounced by former Sotik MP Joyce Laboso.

He attended her swearing-in ceremony and pledged to work with her.

At the event attended by the President, he was urged to ditch NASA and join Jubilee.

But the former Governor remained non-committal.

Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, who was a big critic of Jubilee accompanied Ruto alongside former Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot and Patrick Ole Ntutu.

The Supreme Court nullified Uhuru’s victory after a petition challenging his victory was filed by Raila.

Fresh polls were ordered within 60 days and IEBC has gazetted October 17 as the date for repeat polls.
