Outspoken Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has called out Kenyans for their habit of condemning women MPs on account of unfounded claims of promiscuity.

This follows allegations by a conman, Wazir Benson Chacha, that he has had sexual escapades with 13 female MPs.

Chacha, currently in police custody has been running an extortion syndicate targeting MPs, both male and female.

Millie questioned why the narrative always has to border on sex for women.

“I know “sex” sells but I find it abhorrent for any person or institution to spin this nonsense. Can women not do anything without it being about sex?” she asked in a lengthy Facebook post.

“Like I have always said, did any woman MP borrow your “V” and misuse it? It cannot always be a vagina monologue. Only non-intelligent people make everything about women sexual. Grow up,” she added.

She defended Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege against claims she has had an affair with Chacha as it has been circulating on social media.

“Hon Sabina Chege discovered that a conman was using her name to con people. The conman fraudulently registered a number under Hon Sabina’s name. He would either solicit for money for Hon Sabina’s alleged treatment abroad or would create a crisis that required urgent money. He conned both male and female MPs and non MPs alike.”

The Suba North MP said Chacha‘s tact in conning female MPs was trying to hit on them using sexual messages which they shared on a WhatsApp group they are in.

“One way of trying to con Women MPs was try hitting on them with sexual messages. We share information on our wassup (sic) and we discovered he had tried to con several women MPs.”

She said it was unfortunate that after attempts to report the issue, it was turned against them with a sexual innuendo narrative.

“As women MPs we agreed to report him to the police. Then suddenly, the story became about sexual innuendos to direct connotations of sexual engagements,” she said.

She also dismissed a viral photo doing rounds on social media saying “Shamelessly, someone has even gone to the extent of putting up a photo of a guy called Samwel from Murang’a who took a photo with Hon Sabina, his MP purporting it to be a photo with the conman Chacha.”
